Dissertation Writers Workshop

This Harvard Griffin GSAS Research Workshop aims to support advanced Classics graduate students in writing and presenting their dissertations. One initial focus will be strategies for time-management and work habits: who does not struggle to balance demands such as teaching and all the rest of life with research and writing? Other professional development topics include figuring out how to achieve multiple goals, such as framing conference topics that relate to the dissertation, figuring out how to shape chapters for job talks, and thinking long-range about publication (how much can appear as articles for the dissertation still to be publishable as a book? what differentiates a dissertation from a book?). The main thrust is the presentation of dissertation chapters. The workshop meets on selected Fridays from 12 to 1:15 p.m. throughout the year.
