The Harvard Gazette recently reported on an exhibit in Palermo, Sicily, honoring Mason Hammond (1903–2002), Pope Professor of the Latin Language and Literature, Emeritus. The exhibit highlighted Professor Hammond's work in Italy in the Monuments, Fine Arts, and Archives Office during WWII. The curator, Attilio Albergoni, was kind enough to give a tour of the exhibit to the students in Classical Studies 112. Regional Study: Sicily when they visited over spring break.
