Emily Wilson and Homerathon

Emily Wilson Homerathon

On February 5th, Professor Emily Wilson, Classicist from the University of Pennsylvania and the first woman to publish an English translation of The Odyssey, gave a lecture on her new translation for the Mahindra Humanities Center Seminar: Civilizations of Ancient Greece and Rome. In conjunction with Wilson's talk, the office of the Dean of Arts and Humanities organized a "Homerathon"—a day-long event featuring a marathon reading of the The Odyssey. Many thanks to Professor David Elmer and Professor Richard Thomas, chairs of the Mahindra seminar, for organizing the lecture. Thanks are also in order for Professor Elmer, the office of the Dean of Arts and Humanities, and many volunteers for making the "Homerathon" possible. Read more about both events in the Harvard Crimson.
