Research interests: structural and functional linguistics of Ancient Greek and Latin; Indo-European linguistics; philology and textual transmission; post-classical Greek and the language question in modern Greece; late Latin and the emergence of the Romance languages; metrics and prosody; reception of classical works by Hebrew speakers; language pedagogy; history of classical education; prose composition
