The Passing of Paul Meyvaert

Renowned Medievalist Paul Meyvaert, Associate of The Department of Classics, passed away on October 6 at the age of 93.  His death was unexpected, but peaceful and painless. Our department has lost a great friend, and our field a person of remarkable dedication and learning. Professor Meyvaert will be greatly missed. His obituary appeared in the Boston Globe on October 11, 2015.

Prof. Meyvaert’s family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Paul J. Meyvaert Memorial Fund at the Medieval Academy of America. Donations may be made online or by check. Donations by check should be made out to “Medieval Academy of America,” with a note on the memo line reading “Paul J. Meyvaert Memorial Fund," and sent to:
